- Appreciated Securities
Donating appreciated stock held for more than one year directly to a charity allows you
to avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciation while claiming a charitable deduction
for the full fair market value, up to 30% of your adjusted gross income (AGI).
- A Gift from your IRA
If you are age 70 ½ or older, you can contribute directly to a charity and avoid paying
